Pippy Houldsworth Gallery is delighted to present its third solo exhibition by Rachel Goodyear. The absurd, microcosmic and anthropomorphic worlds of Goodyear's drawn figures multiply and transform in her new body of work made on a larger scale, with sculptural elements and animations.
Goodyear is showing a large selection of recent work in the major drawing exhibition, Drawing Stories, at Museum Folkwang, Essen, 19 May to 15 July 2012. She has recently exhibited at the ICA, London; Tate Liverpool; The Drawing Room, London; Nassauischer Kunstverein, Wiesbaden; Collective Gallery, Edinburgh; Contemporary Art Society, London; Cornerhouse, Manchester; ME Collectors Room, Berlin; Leeds City Art Gallery, and Neue Galerie, Innsbruck. Goodyear has recently had a solo exhibition at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Wakefield, accompanied by a 116 page hardback publication. Her work is represented in Collections including the Olbricht Collection, Essen; Progressive Art Collection, Ohio; West Collection, Pennsylvania; Colecc?a?o Madeira Corporate Services; and Victoria & Albert Museum, London.
