We are very pleased to announce the first solo exhibition in Switzerland by Anetta Mona Chisa and Lucia Tkacova.

Thelma & Luise, Xena & Gabrielle, Annabel & Midge, Marie Corrençon & Jeanne Salčve, the Baccara, ... Two women with a mission in a bond for life, a duet set out for a semantic pilgrimage, outlaws on the run from the stigma of the G on G. These liaisons exist in the no-man's land between friendship, camaraderie and the kingdom of standard erotic male phantasies. By balancing on the tight rope between being the incarnation of the ultimate stud delirium (the 2 in 1 bargain of wet dreams) and the re-incarnation of a sorority of blood-thirsty nymphs (a foetus of an amazonian clan) they represent an uncanny threat: a slippery two-headed prey that turns into a beast that swallows its tamer, that licks and bites at the same time, that seduces with the kiss of death. Precisely because of this ambivalence, they generate the cockiness and strength to wrestle with the sublimations of these phantasies. Forming and performing a female duo is a way to outdare the scripts inflicted on women by the society as well as a way to dismantle the self-imposed (internalized) mechanisms of male domination that women carry out.

The exhibition entitled "i aM a venus, A conch, a kiT, a Cat, a Lot" (an anagram of the artists names) is built on the fundamental principle of collaboration as such - mixing and merging the individual selves in order to create a new temporary entity. In the formation of a couple the aspect of compromise and negotiation is vital. It is a method how to overcome egocentrism, competition and emulation. The reflection crops up as a continuous questioning and mirroring of the self in the other one. In the bond-age of a duo, the individuals truly dissolve into each other, trespass the boundaries of the ego, otherness and own existence and re-create the selves in a temporary "we" without any reserves. It is liberating, provoking and ominous at the same time.
