It really is an art fair „Made in Germany“, not only in terms of planning, organisation and realisation, but also in terms of gallery-presence (80% from Germany).
The fair takes place for the third time and - according to general opinion - gains more and more in dimension and quality. Exhibitors want to come back next time, and that means that they are selling well. The convenient proximity to collectors living in southern Germany, a well planned selection of art (large-sized or extremely expensive exhibits are rare) and a constant improvement in quality promise a continuing uptrend for the ART Karlsruhe.
Another highlight was the open panel discussion with Harald Falckenberg (Falckenberg Collection), Axel Hecht (editor of the ART) and Max Hollein (director: „Schirn Kunsthalle“, „Städelsches Kunstinstitut“ and „Liebig-Haus“); it revolved around different points of view regarding the development of the art market.
