Collectors of the world watch this city!
The eleventh edition of the Art Forum has shown that the successful last year’s edition was not an exception. Berlin’s main art fair attracts more and more national and international collectors. The organisation of the fair appears self-confident; the consequent accent on emerging art is celebrated as a successful concept.
It gains again 3,000 visitors this year and so hit the 40,000 mark. A perfect organisation and records in sales was the credo of the gallery owners.
It was concentrated on the essential, on business. A small GET TOGETHER of the exhibitors with the management of the fair, finger food and fabulous fireworks replaced the extensive program of other big events. The party is in the town at night. The booths were sold out in a rush to the competent audience. That because of the increasing interest in art but also on the fact that the galleries are better prepared each time, that means the collectors were well informed in the run-up. Does Judy Lybke mend that when he said a fair booth should be gained even before the beginning of the fair?
The master himself appears calmly like usual and gives the ton. Sculptures, he has been saying since months, sculptures are up coming. And so they are coming and get sold. This ‘prophetic’ power only do few people have and it is not god- given but hard work for years. Trend needs trendsetter.
So let’s watch how this new trend affects the artist ranking in the future.
