This year Art Basel Miami will see an unexampled number of satellite art fairs. During the fair weekend around the 8th of december thirteen art fairs will take place concurrently with Art Basel Miami Beach. One of the fairs will be a satellite from Art Basel itself: Art Basel Positions which will be held in shipping containers in Collins Park at the Beach. 21 young galleries will show their artworks to the public.

The longest established fair will be Scope Art Fair which already showed up in 2002 at Miami when it was the first and only satellite fair. With 84 Galleries it will also be the biggest fair around this weekend. Scope also tries to redefine art fairs by moving from a hotel space where it showed last year in a 40.000 sq ft pavillion in Roberto Clemente Park.
The second biggest fair, with 81 exhibitors, will be the NADA art fair founded in 2002 and having their first show in Miami in 2003. The fair will be held in the Ice Palace Film Studios.
Also Aqua Art Fair, Pulse and Pool already apeared once in Miami. Pool which changed its name from Pool Video last year in Pool Boomerang this year is organized by Frére Independent which also organizes an other fair: Diva, which will go in its first year in Miami but already had shows concurrently to other big fairs. Also Photo Miami makes it´s debut in Miami but already showed up as a satellite in New York, Los Angeles and London.

Among the newcomers are Bridge Art Fair which also plans Fairs in Chicago and London for 2007, INK and flow.
But that’s not all, also design lovers will find their places. With Art Loves Design and Design Miami two design fairs will join the satellite program.
